NEET Aspirant Ends Life, Says Did Not Want to Study Medicine

Nawargaon – A 19-year-old student who had cleared the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) allegedly died by suicide in Sindewahi taluka on Tuesday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Anurag Anil Borkar, a resident of Nawargaon. He had secured a 99.99 percentile and ranked 1,475 in the OBC category, making him eligible for MBBS admission in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, according to officials.

Borkar was found hanging from the ceiling of his home in the early hours by his family. A suicide note recovered from his room stated that he did not wish to pursue medicine and instead wanted to enter business.

Police said further investigation is underway.
