Hyderabad — Three men were arrested on Monday for allegedly raping and murdering a 32-year-old woman in Kismathpur. The incident took place on September 14, under a bridge, according to a release from the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
Police said the victim went missing for three days before locals spotted her body near bushes on September 16 and alerted authorities. A case under relevant sections of the BNS was registered at Rajendranagar Police Station.
According to the investigation, a 33-year-old man initially spotted the woman near a pillar while she was intoxicated, lured her into an auto-rickshaw, bought her food and alcohol, and sexually assaulted her near a function hall. He later dropped her at Aramghar X Road.
Subsequently, two auto-rickshaw drivers, aged 25 and 26, coerced her into their vehicle, drove her to Kismathpur bridge, and raped her. When she resisted, one of them fatally assaulted her with sticks and fled, leaving her body in the bushes.
Authorities confirmed that CCTV footage helped identify the suspects, who were arrested from different locations. Further investigation is underway.
