Dhuri (Sangrur): Dhuri Police have uncovered an illegal operation manufacturing small firecrackers in Bhasaur village. Fiaz Khan, a resident of Pokhra Mohalla, Hajipur, Bihar, currently living in Bhasaur, was arrested for running the operation from a closed poultry farm.
Senior Superintendent of Police Sangrur, Sartaj Singh Chahal, said that police recovered a large quantity of firecrackers and potassium (gunpowder) from the premises. A case has been registered against Khan under relevant sections, and further investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the materials and any other individuals involved.
DSP Dhuri Damanbir Singh also highlighted the ongoing “Yudh Nashiyan Virudh” campaign against drugs and criminal activity, launched on March 1, 2025. During this period, police conducted seminars, marches, and enforcement actions, registering four cases, arresting five accused, and recovering heroin, narcotic tablets, and country liquor. A robbery gang was also apprehended.
Checkpoints continue to be enforced across Dhuri, and efforts are being made to identify and provide treatment to individuals struggling with drug use. The campaign aims to maintain strict vigilance and work toward a drug-free Punjab.
