Adilabad: A 23-year-old engineering student from Adilabad district allegedly died by suicide at a private hostel in Narapally on Sunday night. Police said the student was found hanging in his room hours after he had gone to a party with friends.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the group had visited a bar where an argument broke out over splitting the bill. The altercation reportedly continued even after they returned, and later that night, the student was discovered dead in his hostel room.
Police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and are questioning his friends while also reviewing CCTV footage from the hostel and bar. The body has been shifted for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway.
