Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said in Karnal that the Haryana Government is making continuous efforts to prevent incidents of stubble burning and ensure proper management of crop residue. Farmers are being made aware of stubble management and encouraged to adopt modern agricultural machinery.

He said the government has provided 1,00,882 machines to farmers for stubble management, which has resulted in negligible incidents of stubble burning this time. He said emphasis is being laid on the proper disposal of crop residue. At the same time, incidents of stubble burning are being monitored, and action is being taken as per the rules against those violating the norms.

Responding to a question from the media, he said that the crops of farmers registered on the portal are being procured in the state. He added that the sale of paddy brought from Uttar Pradesh is also being monitored, and action is taken against those involved in such activities.
