Chandigarh: Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda stated that the Department of Higher Education will confer the ‘State NSS Awards 2025-26’ to honour coordinators, officers and volunteers who have performed outstanding work in the field of the National Service Scheme (NSS). For this purpose, the State NSS Cell has invited applications from university-level and district- and polytechnic-level NSS units.
The Education Minister stated that a total of 42 awards will be given for the year 2025-26. These include 1 award for a University NSS Programme Coordinator, 1 award for a District/Polytechnic NSS Programme Coordinator, 30 awards for NSS Programme Officers and Units, and 10 awards for NSS volunteers. A verified record of activities and achievements for 3 years for coordinators and 2 years for Programme Officers and volunteers will be mandatory.
He stated that only nominations submitted through the proper channel will be accepted. Applications sent directly, submitted via e-mail, or received without documents will be rejected. In addition, only activities organised under the banner of NSS will be considered valid.
