CHANDIGARH: To resolve grievances and service-related matters of state government employees and contractual staff, Punjab Finance, Transport Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, who also heads the Cabinet Sub-Committee constituted to resolve employees’ issues, on Monday presided over high-level meetings with representatives of various Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) employee associations and the Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS / PRTC Contract Workers’ Union Punjab (25/11).

During detailed deliberations with representatives of the PUNBUS / PRTC Contract Workers’ Union, Transport Minister Harpal Singh Cheema directed the Additional Chief Secretary, Transport, Anurag Verma, to redress all legitimate demands of the contract workers by October 15. He also directed the department to convene a meeting of the Board of Directors (BoD) without delay to ensure prompt approval for matters requiring board concurrence.
Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated, “All legitimate demands of the Punbus/PRTC contract workers should be redressed by October 15. The Transport Department must also convene a meeting of the Board of Directors without delay so that matters requiring the Board’s concurrence can be approved promptly.”
Reiterating the AAP government’s commitment, Harpal Singh Cheema emphasised, “The Bhagwant Singh Mann Government is actively engaging with employee unions across departments to ensure prompt, structured and sympathetic resolution of their genuine issues and demands. The government will continue to work with employees and their representatives to address legitimate concerns in a timely manner.”
