Amritsar: In a major crackdown on cross-border narco-terror networks, Amritsar Commissionerate Police have arrested Yasin Mohammed from Wadali, Chheharta, and recovered 7.122 kg of heroin.

Initial investigations suggest the drug syndicate was being run by Jagpreet Singh, alias Jagga, a resident of Moga, who maintained close links with Pakistan-based smugglers. Acting on their directions, he is believed to have distributed heroin across Punjab’s Malwa region.

A case has been registered at Chheharta police station in Amritsar. Police officials said a detailed probe is underway to trace the entire network, including its backward and forward linkages.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and safeguarding Punjab from such cross-border threats.
