Shimla: Governor Kavinder Gupta today visited the Sri Pejawar Mutt, a unit of Udupi Mutt, at Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, and met Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji, the 33rd Peethadhipati of Sri Pejawar Adhokshaja Mutt, Udupi.

The Governor was warmly welcomed at the Mutt with the chanting of Vedic mantras by the students of the Gurukul, run by the Mutt. Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji apprised the Governor about the various activities being undertaken by the Pejawar Mutt in the fields of education, spirituality, social service and community welfare.

The Governor appreciated the Mutt’s efforts towards preserving traditional knowledge systems and imparting value-based education. He said that the Gurukul tradition represents an important dimension of India’s indigenous educational heritage, where learning is integrated with discipline, character building, spirituality, service and respect for society.
The Governor sought the blessings of Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji for the people of Himachal Pradesh and expressed his appreciation for the Mutt’s continued efforts towards the welfare of society and preservation of India’s timeless spiritual and cultural traditions.
