Ahmedabad – The Gujarat High Court received a bomb threat on Monday, just days after similar hoax threats were reported at the Delhi and Mumbai high courts.
Police said an unidentified person sent an email to the official ID of the Gujarat HC in the morning, claiming that RDX had been planted inside the premises. Acting swiftly, court officials alerted authorities, following which local police, a dog squad, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad rushed to the spot.
“The teams immediately began scanning the high court premises, including buildings, chambers, and vehicles, without disrupting proceedings,” said Sola police station inspector K. N. Bhukan.
After an extensive search, nothing suspicious was found, confirming that the threat was a hoax. According to police, this is the third fake bomb threat received by the Gujarat High Court since June this year.
Authorities are now attempting to trace the sender of the threatening email.
