Delhi Court Grants Bail to AAP Leader Satyendar Jain in Delhi Jal Board Tender Case

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain in connection with a corruption case concerning alleged irregularities in Delhi Jal Board tenders. The relief comes after the court reserved its order on August 25 following extensive arguments presented by both the defence and the prosecution.

The case, probed by the Delhi Government’s Anti-Corruption Branch, centres on allegations of procedural manipulation in awarding contracts for sewage treatment plants. ACB investigators arrested Jain in August, alleging that specific technical prerequisites within the tender documentation had been tailored to improperly favour a select private bidder.

During the bail proceedings, Jain’s legal counsel contended that the senior leader had fully cooperated with the probe and that his continued incarceration was unnecessary for the ongoing investigation. While the ACB opposed the relief on grounds of procedural sensitivity, the court accepted the plea and directed his release on bail, marking a substantial legal respite for the AAP leadership.
