Chandigarh: Haryana continues to record the highest growth in State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) collections among all states in the country during the current financial year. During the first five months of the financial year 2026-27, the State collected Rs. 24,662 crore in SGST, as against Rs. 19,174 crore during the corresponding period of the previous financial year, registering a growth of 29%. This is nearly double the national growth rate of 16%.
In August 2026, Haryana generated revenue of Rs. 4,982 crore from SGST (post-settlement), compared to Rs. 4,119 crore in the corresponding month of the previous year. This represents a growth of 21%, higher than the national average growth rate of 13% for August 2026.
VAT/CST collections have also registered significant growth. During the first five months of the financial year 2026-27, VAT/CST collections stood at Rs. 5,768 crore, compared to Rs. 5,067 crore during the corresponding period of the previous financial year, registering a growth of 13.8%.
