Hoshiarpur: Tension has escalated in Hoshiarpur district after the abduction and killing of a child, Harveer Singh, in Deep Nagar. The incident has triggered resentment against migrant workers, leading several village panchayats to pass resolutions asking them to leave.

The panchayat of Shanti Nagar has ordered all migrant workers to vacate the village by September 20. Bajwara village adopted a similar resolution, seeking the removal of migrant families. In recent days, the panchayats of Ajjowal, Rasoolpur, and Chaddial have also issued directions instructing migrants to leave their villages.

The resolutions reflect growing anger among locals, although officials have not yet confirmed any district-wide directives on the issue. The situation remains tense as villagers demand action following the murder.
