Kathmandu: The Nepal government has stepped up search, rescue and relief operations in Rasuwa district after severe flooding along the Bhotekoshi River affected several areas and raised concerns for communities living close to the riverbanks.
The authorities have mobilised resources to reach civilians facing difficult conditions, with the Nepali Army sending essential supplies to affected locations. Food items, tents and medicines are among the relief materials being delivered as emergency operations continue.
Helicopters operated by the Nepali Army and private-sector operators have been pressed into service alongside teams travelling on foot. Rescue personnel have been deployed in and around Timure and Syabrubesi, as well as other areas along the river, to assist people and assess the situation on the ground.
The government is closely monitoring developments as rescue teams work to reach areas affected by the flooding. The difficult terrain and river conditions have made access a key challenge for relief workers, increasing the importance of both aerial and ground-based operations.
The Prime Minister’s Office has also issued a warning to residents living near riverbanks, urging them to remain highly alert and take necessary precautions in view of the continuing risk.
Officials are focusing on reaching people who may be stranded or vulnerable while ensuring that essential supplies reach communities facing shortages. The deployment of helicopters is expected to help authorities access locations that may be difficult to reach by road or foot.
The situation remains under close watch, with the government continuing to coordinate search, rescue and relief efforts in the affected parts of Rasuwa.
