CHANDIGARH: Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, who also serves as the Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee constituted to resolve employee matters, held a series of meetings on Monday with various teachers’ and education employees’ unions as well as the Punjab Government Pensioners Joint Front to deliberate on their demands and grievances.
During the discussions, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema directed the Education Department to immediately resolve issues that can be addressed at the departmental level. For demands involving financial implications, he instructed officials to convene a joint meeting comprising representatives from both the Finance Department and the Education Department to expedite a viable solution.
In his meeting with the Punjab Government Pensioners Joint Front, the Finance Minister assured union leaders that the concerns outlined in their memorandum are already under active consideration and will be addressed appropriately. He reiterated the Punjab Government’s firm commitment to resolving all legitimate demands of its employees and pensioners.
In a series of separate meetings, the Finance Minister met delegations of the IEATC Special B.Ed. Employees Union, Adarsh School Teaching and Non-Teaching Association, NSQF Vocational Teachers Front, ETT TET Pass Unemployed Teachers Union, 180 ETT TET Pass Teachers Association (Jai Singh Wala), B.Ed. TET Pass Unemployed Teachers Union, 3704 Teachers Union, and the Punjab Government Pensioners Joint Front.
The meetings were attended by Priya Sharma, Jagroop Kaur, and Kulwant Kaur representing the IEATC Special B.Ed. Employees Union; Jasveer Singh Ghaloti, Gurcharan Singh, Chander Shekhar, Salim Mohammad, Amarjot Joshi, and Amandeep Kumar from the Adarsh School Teaching and Non-Teaching Association; Bhupinder Singh and Ranjit Singh from the NSQF Vocational Teachers Front; Ram Partap, Sandeep Singh, and Amandeep Kaur from the ETT TET Pass Unemployed Teachers Union; Kamal Thakur, Sohan Singh, Gurpreet Singh, and Gurmukh Singh from the 180 ETT TET Pass Teachers Association (Jai Singh Wala); Gurpreet Singh, Subedar Nirmal Singh, and Darshan Singh from the B.Ed. TET Pass Unemployed Teachers Union; Yadvinder Singh and Harjinder Singh from the 3704 Teachers Union; and Darshan Singh Dhanoa, Avinash Chander Sharma, Sukhwinder Singh Saini, Gurdeep Singh Walia, Gurmeet Singh Tiwana, Nahar Singh, Karnail Singh, Balvir Singh Saini, Rakesh Sharma, and Dev Raj representing the Punjab Government Pensioners Joint Front.
