Chandigarh: Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santosh has ruled out any possibility of reviving an electoral alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab, announcing that the party will contest all 117 Assembly seats on its own in the upcoming legislative elections. Addressing party workers and leaders during a regional gathering in Patiala on Monday, Santosh made it clear that the party is focused on expanding its independent footprint across the state to form the next government.
The senior leader urged party workers to intensify grassroots preparations and strengthen organizational networks across every constituency. Santosh emphasized that the state unit is actively reviewing booth-level functioning to mobilize public support and build a robust, standalone base across urban and rural segments alike.
Santosh’s categorical declaration puts an end to ongoing political speculation regarding a potential rapprochement between the former allies.
