The Bharatiya Janata Party has initiated a comprehensive organisational review across Punjab as senior leader and national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh arrived in the state for a two-day strategic tour. The visit aims to assess grassroots preparedness, resolve internal friction, and strengthen the party structure across key zones ahead of upcoming electoral battles, where the party intends to contest all 117 assembly seats independently.
Santosh, who serves as the central liaison between the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, is accompanied on the tour by national joint general secretary Saudan Singh, who oversees regional coordination across northern states. The leadership’s visit follows a recent restructuring of the Punjab state unit that triggered dissatisfaction among certain senior functionaries, prompting central leaders to step in to restore cohesion and ensure unified ground operations.
The two-day itinerary covers five major regional centres. Initial zonal meetings in Patiala and Bathinda brought together representatives from surrounding districts, including Mohali, Sangrur, Mansa, Muktsar Sahib, and Faridkot, to review booth-level functioning. The tour continues across Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Amritsar, covering industrial and northern rural pockets, and concludes with a dedicated consultation involving state general secretaries to finalize campaign mobilization plans.
