Ramgarh: At least three workers lost their lives and another sustained severe injuries after a massive fire erupted at a steel manufacturing plant in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district late Friday night. The incident occurred around midnight when flames originated in the captive power plant of the Maa Chinnamastika Ispat factory located in the Helal area, rapidly spreading across the unit while a large shift of employees was on duty.
According to Ramgarh Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, four workers suffered critical burn trauma and were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical intervention, where three individuals succumbed to their wounds during treatment. Barkakana Police Station in-charge Uma Shankar Verma identified the deceased victims as Sanjeev, Vinit, and Abhishek.
The district administration and labour department have launched an official probe to determine the exact cause of the blaze. Chief Factory Inspector Manish Sinha confirmed that a specialised two-member investigation panel, comprising a local factory inspector and the Chotanagpur Deputy Chief Inspector, has been dispatched to the facility to inspect the site and review adherence to industrial safety regulations.
