Takht Sri Damdama Sahib: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is set to inaugurate the second phase of the Miri Piri Khalsa March from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib on Sunday, August 23, following directives issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Preparations for the religious procession have been finalized at the fourth temporal seat of Sikhism, with the march scheduled to commence around 8:00 a.m. amid traditional ceremonies.
The flag-off ceremony will be led by Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar Baba Tek Singh Dhanaula, and SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami. A large assembly of devotees, SGPC representatives, Nihang Singh organizations, and various Sikh socio-religious institutions will participate in the proceedings to mark the commencement of the second leg.
Issuing a public appeal, Jathedar Baba Tek Singh urged the community, particularly the youth, to participate actively in the historic event. He stated that the primary objective of the Khalsa March is to reinforce the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, foster collective unity, and spread panthic consciousness across households, while encouraging the younger generation to connect with their heritage and stay away from substance abuse.
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, the Jathedar emphasized that the march represents collective panthic unity and spiritual elevation. He called upon diaspora members, regional institutions, and community figures to gather in large numbers at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib on August 23 to witness the ceremonial launch.
