Jaipur: A delegation of Cockroach Janta Party leaders and volunteers was allegedly confronted, assaulted, and forced to leave Rampura Kanwarpura village in the Bagru Assembly constituency of Jaipur during a planned inspection of a local government school on Friday. The visit, led by party co-founder Ashutosh Ranka under the organization’s ongoing “School Thik Karo” campaign, aimed to highlight poor infrastructure and the reported operation of classes from a cattle shed.
Visuals from the scene showed a hostile crowd blocking the team, hurling verbal abuse, and forcing the activists to retreat before they could access the government primary school premises. Ranka alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party workers orchestrated the confrontation, claiming that volunteers were physically beaten, vehicles were vandalized, mobile phones were smashed, and one team member suffered a fractured arm. Party leader Shivangi Sharma also stated that women volunteers were targeted and labelled as anti-nationals and outsiders. Ranka issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding the arrest of the perpetrators, warning that the party would expand protests across Rajasthan and demand the resignation of Education Minister Madan Dilawar.
The BJP denied any involvement in the incident, with local representatives maintaining that the opposition came entirely from local residents who objected to political interference in the school environment. The confrontation unfolded amidst heightened scrutiny over school visits across the state, following a recent Rajasthan government circular restricting unauthorized entry, photography, videography, and interviews by outside entities within state-run school premises.
