FIRs to be registered against colonisers involved in developing unauthorised colonies
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini said the state government is continuously working to improve civic amenities and address public grievances in Gurugram. Civic systems have improved over time, with visible positive changes in several areas that previously faced persistent problems, he said.
The Chief Minister acknowledged that exceptionally heavy rainfall can put sudden pressure on urban infrastructure and lead to waterlogging. However, improvements undertaken in recent years are now producing visible results, he added.
The Chief Minister said this while chairing a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee in Gurugram on Friday. Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Pataudi MLA, Bimla Chaudhary, Sohna MLA, Tejpal Tanwar and Gurugram MLA, Mukesh Sharma were also present.
Of the 17 complaints taken up at the meeting, the Chief Minister resolved 14 on the spot, while three were deferred to the next meeting. Officers concerned were directed to submit status reports on the pending cases at the next meeting.
Provide land for 33-kV substation at Pioneer Industrial Park immediately or face FIR- CM
Representatives of the welfare association at Pioneer Industrial Park on Bilaspur-Tauru Road raised concerns over the developer’s failure to provide the earmarked land for setting up a 33-kV substation. They said the delay was affecting power supply to industrial units in the park.
Taking cognisance of the complaint, the Chief Minister directed power department officers to ensure that the developer immediately provides the required land for the proposed substation.
He made it clear that if the builder or developer fails to cooperate in providing the land, an FIR should be registered and necessary legal action initiated in accordance with the rules.
The Chief Minister directed officials to accord priority to construction of the 33-kV substation to ensure adequate, regular and uninterrupted power supply to the industrial area.
Designate e-rickshaw stands, remove encroachments to ease traffic in Sadar Bazar
Taking up a complaint concerning traffic congestion in Sadar Bazar, the Chief Minister was informed that the stretch from Post Office Chowk to the bus stand, which serves as a major entrance to the market, remains heavily congested. E-rickshaws, autorickshaws and other vehicles are often parked haphazardly along the road, while picking up and dropping off passengers on the carriageway further disrupts traffic.
The situation causes inconvenience to residents and traders and can also obstruct the movement of emergency vehicles.The Chief Minister directed Municipal Corporation officials to identify designated stands for e-rickshaws as well as suitable locations for picking up and dropping off passengers. This would prevent vehicles from occupying the main road and help ensure smoother traffic movement.
He also ordered regular anti-encroachment drives along the main approach to Sadar Bazar to keep the road clear and facilitate hassle-free movement for the public.

Residents of the RWA of Krishna Colony in Jhund Sarai Viran, complained that the colony had been developed by colonisers in violation of prescribed norms. They alleged that land earmarked for a road was being sold and attempts were being made by purchasers to occupy it.
Taking serious note of the matter, Nayab Singh Saini directed the authorities concerned to register FIRs, as per law, against the colonisers responsible for developing the unauthorised colony.
He said negligence would not be tolerated in cases where people are misled into investing their hard-earned money in illegally developed colonies. Officers were also directed to take appropriate action against unauthorised construction and address the grievances of affected residents on priority.
The Chief Minister said the government’s approach is to work towards permanent solutions rather than merely providing temporary relief. Departments should take effective measures to address the underlying causes of recurring problems so that citizens do not have to face the same difficulties repeatedly.
He directed officers to regularly review complaints received at grievance committee meetings as well as compliance with earlier directions and ensure that pending cases are resolved on priority.
