Delhi: Delhi Police has initiated an inquiry into a complaint alleging that the singing of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ was disrupted during the Congress Independence Day programme at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi on August 15.
The complaint was submitted at the IP Estate Police Station by advocate Shubh Sharma, naming Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in connection with the alleged incident.
According to the complaint, the national song was being performed during the Independence Day celebrations when an alleged act of intentional obstruction or disturbance took place. The complainant has sought legal action over the matter.
