CM Mann Alleges “Biggest Seed Scam” Under Akali Regime, Questions Quality of Seeds Offered by Badal

Chandigarh – Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a fierce attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal, accusing the previous Akali government of overseeing the “biggest ever seed scam” in the state’s history.

Speaking at a press conference, Mann expressed skepticism about the quality of seeds that Badal recently announced for distribution to farmers impacted by floods. The Chief Minister recalled the notorious “Tota Singh seed scam,” which, he noted, is still under investigation.

Referring to Badal’s promise of providing seeds for one lakh acres, Mann said, “I know their seeds well. The Tota Singh scam destroyed the lives of hundreds of families. We will not allow such betrayal again. Every seed being distributed now will be tested to ensure farmers do not suffer.”

Mann also confirmed that both seeds provided during the previous Akali regime and the new ones pledged by Sukhbir Badal would be subject to strict quality checks. He warned that anyone found guilty of compromising farmers’ welfare would face tough action.
