Amritsar: Three young men from Hardorwal Kalan village lost their lives in a severe road collision between Kotla Gujran and Sangatpura along the Fatehgarh Churian to Amritsar route. The deceased have been identified as Pradeep Singh, Jagtar Singh, and Sandeep Masih. According to eyewitnesses, the trio was traveling on a motorcycle toward Amritsar when a high-speed Indica car coming from the opposite direction struck them head-on. The impact resulted in the immediate deaths of two riders at the scene, while Sandeep Masih succumbed to his injuries en route to an Amritsar hospital after initial treatment in Fatehgarh Churian.
Locals reported that the occupants of the car—two men, a woman, and a child—fled the scene immediately following the crash. Witnesses further alleged that occupants took the victims’ mobile phones before absconding and left behind suspicious items inside the vehicle, including foil paper, a burnt banknote, and a kirpan. Tensions escalated among villagers over initial delays caused by police jurisdictional confusion between the Jhander and Majitha stations. Station House Officer Naresh Kumar of the Jhander police station subsequently arrived at the spot, took custody of the bodies for post-mortem examinations, and registered a case while launching a search operation for the fleeing suspects.
