CIK Conducts Simultaneous Searches Across Three Kashmir Districts, Two Devices Seized in Anantnag

Qazigund: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) carried out coordinated search operations at several locations across Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla districts as part of an investigation linked to a case registered by the intelligence wing.

During one of the searches at a residential property in Hiller Shahabad, Anantnag, a CIK team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Farooq Ahmad recovered and seized two digital devices.

Officials said the seizure was made in connection with FIR No. 03/2023, registered at Police Station CIK Kashmir.

Case registered under IPC and UAPA provisions

The case was registered under Sections 153A and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The provisions invoked in the FIR relate to alleged activities involving promoting enmity and matters concerning statements or conduct considered prejudicial to public order, along with provisions of the anti-terror law.

Searches conducted at multiple locations

The simultaneous operations covered locations in Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla, indicating the wider scope of the ongoing investigation.

The two digital devices recovered during the Hiller Shahabad operation have been taken into official custody for further examination as part of the probe.

Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the individuals whose premises were searched or provided details about the contents of the seized devices.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
