Chandigarh– Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, despite being admitted to hospital, chaired a cabinet meeting virtually on Sunday to review the state’s flood situation.

Officials said the Chief Minister closely monitored relief and rehabilitation measures being carried out in flood-affected districts. He directed authorities to speed up rescue operations, ensure timely supply of essential items, and provide medical facilities in relief camps.

Mann emphasized that the government’s top priority was the safety and well-being of people trapped in inundated areas. He instructed district administrations to remain on high alert and coordinate with state disaster management teams to tackle any emergency.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the restoration of damaged infrastructure, including roads, electricity, and drinking water supply. He assured that the state government would extend all possible support to farmers whose crops had been destroyed by the heavy rains and floods.

Officials present at the meeting briefed him on the situation at bundh sites and the progress of repair work. Mann said that transparent monitoring of relief distribution was essential to ensure aid reached those most in need.

Even while undergoing medical care, Mann reiterated that his government was committed to standing by the people of Punjab in this time of crisis.
