PUNE — The mother of murdered Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal has written an emotional appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding the strictest possible punishment for those responsible for her son’s killing. In her emailed letter, Rakhi Agarwal stated that she was not asking for sympathy or special favours but was demanding swift justice for her child. She shared the immense emotional toll the loss has taken on her family, explaining that she had always dreamt of watching her son build a beautiful life, get married, and grow old, but instead had to perform his last rites.
The family’s tragedy was further compounded by the death of Ketan’s grandfather, who passed away just twenty days after the incident, unable to bear the overwhelming grief of losing his grandson. The letter follows a separate appeal sent by Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, to President Droupadi Murmu requesting that the legal proceedings be fast-tracked. Rakhi Agarwal implored the Prime Minister not to let her son’s death become just another pending case file, emphasizing that he was her entire world and that she vows to keep fighting until true justice is delivered.
Ketan Agarwal, a twenty-six-year-old businessman, died on June 18 after falling into a deep valley near Lohagad Fort in Pune district. While local authorities initially registered the incident as an accidental fall, subsequent police investigations revealed a premeditated murder conspiracy. Law enforcement personnel later arrested Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, charging them with plotting the crime and pushing the realtor off the cliff during a weekend trek. Investigators have compiled substantial digital evidence, CCTV footage, and witness accounts against the two suspects, who currently remain in judicial custody while the formal investigation proceeds.
