Hyderabad: The Telangana Police have deployed 12 specialized teams to locate a 35-year-old farmer who allegedly murdered six people, including his wife, two young children, and three members of a family that had previously accused him of sexual harassment. The horrific mass murder took place across multiple locations in the Shabad mandal of Rangareddy district. Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi confirmed that law enforcement agencies are utilizing technical data, CCTV footage, and community tips to track down the suspect, identified as P Rajkumar, who fled the scene immediately after committing the crimes.

According to investigators, Rajkumar used a sickle and a knife to stab the victims and slit their throats. The victims from the second family had previously lodged a formal complaint against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act for stalking and harassing their minor daughter, a case in which Rajkumar had recently secured anticipatory bail. Shortly after executing the killings, the suspect called his father to confess to the crimes and stated he intended to end his own life before turning off his mobile phone. His parents immediately alerted the police, initiating a widespread search operation.

A breakthrough in the timeline revealed that the accused had rented a getaway car using an online payment from his wife’s mobile phone a day prior to the incident. The vehicle was later found abandoned near railway tracks within the Nandigama police station limits after running out of fuel. While police teams have thoroughly searched the local tracks and alerted the Government Railway Police regarding the suicide threat, no body has been recovered. The search has now expanded to lodges, roadside dhabas, railway stations, and relatives’ residences across Hyderabad, as well as the Srisailam area in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

While the exact motive behind the targeted killings remains under formal investigation, family members revealed to the police that Rajkumar was battling severe psychological stress stemming from immense financial debts. He was reportedly heavily addicted to online betting and gambling, and had recently liquidated his share of family property to clear a major portion of his liabilities. Investigators also discovered that his financial distress had previously led to a suicide attempt involving poison ingestion in October last year. A cash reward of 2 lakh rupees has been announced for any credible information leading to his arrest, and authorities have assured the public that the identity of all informants will be kept strictly confidential.
