Lucknow — A shocking case of campus violence has surfaced from Amity University, Lucknow, after a second-year law student was allegedly assaulted by his classmates inside a car parked in the university’s premises.

The victim, identified as Shikhar Mukesh Kesarwani, a BA LLB student, was reportedly slapped “50 to 60 times” on August 26. The incident came to light only after a disturbing video of the attack went viral on social media. Shikhar’s friend, Soumya Singh Yadav, was present with him during the assault.

Following a formal complaint by Shikhar’s father, Mukesh Kesarwani, police registered an FIR against five students: Ayush Yadav, Jahnvi Mishra, Milay Banerjee, Vivek Singh, and Aryaman Shukla. The charges include physical assault, abuse, and criminal intimidation.

According to the complaint, the assault has left Shikhar deeply traumatised, forcing him to stop attending classes. His father revealed that Shikhar had undergone ligament surgery just weeks earlier, on August 11, and was still walking with the help of a stick when the incident occurred.

“Jahnvi and Ayush slapped my son at least 50 to 60 times and hurled abuses at me and my parents. They even threatened to kill us,” Shikhar alleged in his statement. He further claimed that two other classmates, Vivek and Milay, recorded the assault and circulated the video across the campus.

The motive behind the attack is still unclear. Authorities have not released any official statement, and Amity University has yet to comment on the incident. Meanwhile, police said further investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events and establish accountability.

The viral video has triggered widespread outrage on social media, with many calling for strict action against the accused students and demanding accountability from the university administration.
