Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Administration and various security agencies have commenced preliminary preparations for a proposed visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 17. While the Prime Minister’s Office has yet to accord final approval to the official itinerary, local administrative machinery has already been set into motion to ensure seamless coordination.
Local officials have started compiling a comprehensive list of major development projects within the Union Territory that could be inaugurated or dedicated to the public during the visit. This proposed list will be forwarded to the federal executive authorities shortly, after which the official schedule for the Prime Minister is expected to be locked in.
Sources indicate that the primary public event during the visit is slated to take place at Panjab University in Sector 14. In addition to public addresses, the Prime Minister is anticipated to inaugurate two critical healthcare infrastructure projects at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. These state-of-the-art facilities include the Advanced Neurosciences Centre and the Mother and Child Health Centre. Administrative officials emphasized that while all ground arrangements are being fast-tracked, the final itinerary remains subject to confirmation from federal authorities.
