Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has stepped forward to aid flood-affected families in Punjab, announcing a contribution of Rs 1 crore towards rehabilitation efforts. SGPC President Sardar Harjinder Singh Dhami confirmed that an additional Rs 1 crore will also be mobilized in the coming days to further support victims.

Dhami stated that the committee is committed to providing timely assistance to those who have lost homes, livelihoods, and belongings due to the disaster. To expand the relief campaign, the SGPC has also shared a dedicated account number through which people across India and abroad can directly contribute to the cause.

“Punjabis worldwide have always come together in times of crisis. We appeal to the diaspora to extend their support generously so that relief reaches every family in need,” Dhami said.

The funds collected will be directed towards essential relief measures, including food supplies, medical assistance, and rehabilitation of those displaced by the floods. SGPC members have assured transparency in the utilization of contributions and emphasized their commitment to serving humanity in line with Sikh principles of sewa (selfless service).
