Slovakia: In a heartbreaking development, a young Punjabi man who moved abroad in search of better livelihood opportunities has tragically passed away after drowning in Slovakia. The deceased has been identified as Gursevak Singh, son of Sartaj Singh, a resident of Ajnala. The untimely demise of the young man has devastated his family and plunged the entire local community into a deep blanket of mourning.

According to family sources, Gursevak had moved to Slovakia approximately eight months ago on a work permit, driven by the hope of securing a prosperous future for his family. However, tragedy struck unexpectedly when he accidentally drowned. The devastating news arrived just as the household was actively preparing for a major family milestone, as Gursevak’s elder brother is scheduled to get married on December 31 later this year. The upcoming wedding celebrations have now been completely overshadowed by profound grief.

Faced with this immense loss, the grieving family members have issued an urgent appeal to both the Central Government of India and the Punjab Government, alongside the Indian Embassy in Slovakia. They have requested immediate administrative intervention to expedite the repatriation of Gursevak’s mortal remains to India, allowing the family to perform his final rites on his native soil.
