Lohgard: The Pune Rural Police on Sunday escorted twenty-year-old Siya Goyal to the historic Lohagad Fort to reconstruct the crime scene where her fiancé, prominent realtor Ketan Agarwal, was allegedly murdered. The extensive investigative exercise was conducted to establish the precise chronological sequence of events surrounding the fatal incident that occurred on June 18.
During the site visit, law enforcement officials escorted Goyal to the specific vantage point on the fort’s ramparts from where she and her accomplice, twenty-two-year-old Chetan Chaudhary, allegedly pushed Agarwal to his death. According to senior police officials, Chaudhary will be brought to the cliffside location independently for a separate walkthrough to verify their individual accounts. The physical recreation allows investigators to cross-examine the statements provided by the accused regarding the exact location and physical dynamics of the fall.
Both Goyal and Chaudhary remain in custody following their arrests for orchestrating a criminal conspiracy to assassinate the Pune-based businessman. Investigators revealed that Goyal confessed to plotting the murder alongside Chaudhary because she was opposed to the arranged marriage. She allegedly told interrogators that she feared formally breaking off the engagement would cause severe social disrepute to her family, leading her to plan the fatal excursion instead.
The ongoing homicide investigation is currently analyzing multiple dimensions of the conspiracy. Detection teams are actively mapping out the physical movements of both suspects prior to and immediately following the June 18 incident. Furthermore, digital forensics teams are extracting cellular data and online footprints to solidify the timeline, while mapping out the financial and personal motives underpinning the crime.
