Una: A massive fire broke out in the Lal Singi area of Una district on Saturday, completely destroying at least 25 makeshift huts belonging to migrant labourers. The intense blaze spread rapidly across the settlement, reducing the temporary structures to ashes within a matter of minutes and leaving several families entirely homeless. While the rapid destruction triggered widespread panic throughout the locality, swift intervention from community members and emergency services prevented the flames from engulfing nearby residential pockets.

The fire caused extensive damage to property, completely consuming the families’ household belongings, clothes, essential food supplies, and hard-earned savings stored inside the temporary shelters. Local residents initially rushed to contain the spreading flames before multiple emergency vehicles from the local fire department arrived at the scene. Firefighters engaged in a strenuous operation for several hours to successfully bring the blaze under control and isolate the primary hazard zone.

District revenue officials and administrative teams visited the site shortly after the incident to initiate a comprehensive damage assessment and coordinate immediate relief operations. Although no casualties or physical injuries were reported in the accident, the affected migrant labourers have been forced to shelter under the open sky after losing all their material possessions. Local authorities have begun setting up temporary tents and distributing emergency food packets, blankets, and financial aid to help the displaced families recover from the sudden tragedy.
