Ferozepur – Train services across Punjab faced major disruptions on Thursday after rising water levels at Bridge No. 84 between Makhu and Gidarpindi railway stations forced the Railways to cancel, divert, and curtail multiple services.

Officials confirmed that a total of 22 trains have been affected. These include eight cancellations, six short originations, six short terminations, and two diversions. The Railways said the changes are being implemented strictly as a safety precaution to avoid any untoward incidents.

Passengers have been urged to stay updated through official channels before making travel plans. “The safety of passengers is our top priority. We request travelers to confirm the status of their trains before starting their journey,” a railway spokesperson said.

The disruption comes at a time when heavy rainfall and flooding have caused widespread damage in several parts of Punjab, putting pressure on transportation and relief operations.
