Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has restored the regular working hours for all government offices across the state, bringing an end to the temporary schedule introduced during the summer months.

According to the new orders, all government offices will function from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days with effect from July 1, 2026.

The state government had earlier revised office timings to cope with the intense summer heat and manage pressure on electricity demand during peak hours.

With weather conditions improving and power supply stabilising, the government has decided to revert to the standard office schedule.

The revised timings will be applicable to all government departments and offices across Punjab from July 1.
