New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended birthday greetings to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, praising his efforts in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) at a time when political discussions continue over the senior BJP leader’s future within the party.
The Prime Minister’s message came amid demands from the opposition and the Cockroach Janta Party seeking Pradhan’s removal from the Union Cabinet.
In a post, Modi highlighted Pradhan’s contribution to the education sector and wished him good health and a long life.
“Birthday wishes to Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ji. He is making commendable efforts towards the implementation of the National Education Policy, which seeks to make India a hub for knowledge, learning and innovation. Praying for his long and healthy life,” the Prime Minister said.
The public endorsement assumes significance as political circles in New Delhi remain abuzz with speculation over the future role of the Odisha BJP leader.
Pradhan is regarded as one of the BJP’s key organisational strategists and has played an important role in several election campaigns. He was credited with helping steer the party to a third consecutive victory in Haryana and had earlier been instrumental in the BJP’s electoral success in Bihar.
