Urgent Evacuation Ordered for Villages Near Ghaggar River in Rajpura Tehsil

Patiala– The district administration has issued an urgent flood warning for villages located near the Ghaggar River in Tehsil Rajpura (Ghanaur), warning that a breach in the river embankment could occur at any time. Authorities have urged residents in vulnerable areas to evacuate without delay and move to safer locations.

Villages under immediate risk include Tepala, Rajgarh, Mahmudpur, Darwa, Sanjarpur, Nannehri, Raipur, Shamspur, Untsar, Jand Mangoli, Harpalan, Kami Khurd, Rampur, Sonta, Chamaru, Kapuri, Kamalpur, Lachhru Khurd, Sarala Kalan, Mahiduda, and Sarala Khurd.

District officials said relief centers have already been set up to provide shelter and support to families. Emergency teams are stationed in the area to assist residents during evacuation. People have been urged to cooperate fully with the administration, follow official advisories only, and prioritize their safety.
