Chandigarh: The Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan highlighted that Punjab has reached a monumental economic milestone. The state has successfully attracted ₹1.74 lakh crore investments, driving widespread industrial growth. Consequently, this massive influx of capital has generated 5.89 lakh new employment opportunities, empowering the local youth and boosting the regional economy. Speaker emphasized that the fertile land of Punjab is now equally ripe for industrial growth. He extended a warm invitation to major international and domestic industrial houses to invest in the state and set up their ventures.
Emphasizing the power of entrepreneurship, the Speaker requested parents to motivate their children toward startups. He stated that true national development relies heavily on industrialization. He appealed directly to the younger generation to shift their mindset from seeking jobs to becoming job providers. By starting their own businesses and becoming their own bosses, the youth can secure unprecedented personal growth and financial prosperity while simultaneously generating employment for others.
Drawing a parallel with global economic models, the Speaker stressed that China’s rapid advancement was driven by its strong embracement of industry. He highlighted that Punjab has secured record-breaking investments under the our government, a stark contrast to previous regimes that neglected the industrial sector and left the state’s economy in stagnation. To reverse this, the Punjab government has actively undertaken international visits to promote Punjab’s potential, sparking immense enthusiasm among NRI and foreign investors.
The Speaker Sandhwan reiterated that our government has adopted a robust industrial policy which is vital to taking Punjab on the path of progress. He shared that the state’s new Industrial Policy has received widespread praise from the business community, largely because it was crafted directly from the recommendations of a committee composed of actual industrialists. Furthermore, he announced that Mohali is being aggressively developed as a world-class IT business hub, and appeal to industrial giants worldwide to set up their business in Punjab.
