New Delhi: A devastating fire that erupted in a multi-storey residential building in Delhi’s Tughlakabad area during the early hours of Friday left three people dead and several others injured, prompting a large-scale rescue operation by emergency services.
The incident occurred at a building located near Naya Tara Apartment on Madhyam Marg, where flames rapidly spread through the structure, trapping several residents inside. Fire department officials received multiple emergency calls within minutes, reporting both the blaze and people stranded on different floors.
Acting swiftly, the Delhi Fire Service deployed several firefighting units, including water tenders, water bowsers, a breathing support vehicle, and a quick response team. Despite the narrow lanes leading to the building, firefighters managed to reach the site and begin rescue operations.
