State Government Fully Committed to Resolving Public Grievances- Cabinet Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi

Chandigarh: Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare, and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, said that the state government is working with complete dedication to ensure the prompt resolution of public grievances. He said that under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the state government is committed to providing transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance. He emphasized that the government’s objective is to ensure the timely and impartial resolution of every citizen’s grievance.

Chairing the meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee held at the DPRC Hall in Fatehabad district on Monday, the Cabinet Minister conducted a detailed review of complaints pertaining to various government departments. He directed officers to ensure that no negligence is shown in resolving public issues and that all grievances are addressed within the stipulated timeframe. He said that forums such as the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee serve as an effective medium of direct communication between the government and the people, enabling complaints to be addressed on a priority basis.

Meanwhile, a total of 13 grievances were placed before the committee during the meeting. Of these, 8 cases were resolved based on reports submitted by the concerned departments and the satisfaction expressed by the complainants. The remaining 5 cases were kept pending for further inquiry and necessary action until the next meeting.

While reviewing a grievance filed by Sunder Singh, a resident of Badopal village, regarding the drainage of rainwater, the Cabinet Minister directed that the matter remain pending and directed the officers to submit a report within two weeks. In another complaint, where the complaint was found to be false, he directed the District Elementary Education Officer to initiate appropriate action as per rules.

Similarly, while hearing another grievance , the Minister directed the Executive Engineer to conduct a site inspection and submit a report. The Minister also ordered a fresh inquiry into some complaints and directed that a committee headed by the SDM of Tohana be constituted to investigate the matter.

During the meeting, officials from various departments presented progress reports on their respective cases. The Cabinet Minister directed them to act on the basis of facts in all pending matters and to submit clear and satisfactory reports in the next meeting. He said that the purpose of grievance committee meetings is not merely to hear complaints but to ensure their effective resolution.

The Minister further said that the state government is providing improved services to citizens through various welfare schemes and is continuously strengthening the grievance redressal mechanism to make it more effective and responsive.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to good governance, Krishan Kumar Bedi said that resolving public grievances remains a top priority and that no citizen should be compelled to face unnecessary difficulties in seeking redressal. The government, he added, is working tirelessly to ensure that the benefits of transparent and efficient governance reach every individual.

Fatehabad MLA, Balwan Daulatpuria, Ratia MLA, Jarnail Singh, former Parliamentary Secretary, Dura Ram, former MLA, Laxman Napa, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Vivek Bharti, Superintendent of Police, Ms. Nikita Khattar, senior officers from various departments also remained present on this occasion.
