Bhopal: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday filed his nomination papers as the party’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh at the State Legislative Assembly.
The nomination process was attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, State BJP President Hemant Khandelwal, senior party leaders, ministers, office-bearers and a large number of BJP workers, reflecting the party’s support for Chugh’s candidature.
Soon after filing his nomination, Chugh expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin and the party leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility.
Calling the nomination both an honour and a significant responsibility, Chugh said the BJP’s decision demonstrated the party’s commitment to recognising the dedication and hard work of ordinary workers. He noted that his political journey within the organisation had given him the opportunity to serve in various capacities and contribute to the party’s growth.
Recalling his long association with Madhya Pradesh, Chugh said he had earlier handled organisational responsibilities in the state and described the opportunity to represent Madhya Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha as a matter of pride.
He pledged to carry out his parliamentary duties with sincerity and commitment, while working in the national interest and upholding the principles and values of the BJP.
Chugh also praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the country is witnessing rapid progress in development, governance, welfare initiatives and self-reliance. He said he would strive to contribute to that vision through his role in Parliament.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Hemant Khandelwal and other BJP leaders congratulated Chugh on his nomination and expressed confidence that his extensive organisational experience and public service record would strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s representation in the Upper House and enhance the BJP’s presence in Parliament.
