Ohio Crash Case: Victim’s Family Demands Deportation of Indian National Facing Homicide Charges

Ohio: The family of a teenage girl who died in a high-speed crash in the United States has urged authorities to deport an Indian national accused in the case once legal proceedings are completed.

The incident, which occurred in Ohio earlier this year, claimed the lives of 17-year-old Ashlee Holmes and her unborn child. Investigators allege that the vehicle was being driven by 33-year-old Tarsem Singh when it crashed during an attempted police pursuit.

According to authorities, deputies initially tried to stop the SUV for speeding. Instead of pulling over, the driver allegedly accelerated, leading officers on a chase. The vehicle later lost control on a curve, collided with another automobile and overturned several times.

Ashlee, who was travelling as a passenger, suffered fatal injuries after being thrown from the vehicle. Emergency responders were unable to save either her or the baby she was carrying.

Following the tragedy, Ashlee’s mother has publicly called for Singh’s removal from the United States. Speaking to media outlets, she said she does not want him to remain in the country and believes deportation should follow the judicial process.

Court records show Singh has been charged with multiple offences, including involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide and aggravated vehicular homicide. He remains in custody as the criminal case moves forward.

US immigration authorities have also taken note of the matter. Reports indicate that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a detainer on Singh after determining that he had entered the country unlawfully several years ago.

The case has attracted significant attention due to both the fatal nature of the crash and the immigration issues surrounding the accused. A jury trial is expected later this year, where prosecutors will seek to establish responsibility for the deaths of the teenager and her unborn child.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family continues to seek justice as they mourn a loss that has deeply affected their community.
