Governor presides over Telangana Foundation Day celebration

Shimla: Governor Kavinder Gupta today presided over the Telangana Foundation Day celebration at Lok Bhavan, Shimla. The programme was organized under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative. The Governor said that the nationwide initiative was envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen national unity and promote cultural integration among the states and Union Territories of India.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that celebrating the foundation days of different states provides an opportunity to recognize and honour their rich cultural heritage, traditions and contributions to the nation. He said such programmes help strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, unity and patriotism among citizens while remembering the efforts and sacrifices of those who worked for the formation and progress of their respective states.

Kavinder Gupta said that ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ is a visionary initiative aimed at building a united, prosperous and harmonious India. He said the programme encourages people to understand and appreciate the diversity of the country while reinforcing the spirit of national integration.

The Governor said that despite India’s vast diversity in languages, cultures, traditions and customs, unity remains the nation’s greatest strength. He said that people may belong to different states, communities, castes, or creeds but their identity as Indians comes first. He stressed the need to continuously spread the message of unity, harmony, mutual respect and national pride among all sections of society.

He further said that the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ teaches citizens the importance of standing together to achieve the country’s collective aspirations and strengthen the vision of a strong and inclusive India.

On the occasion, the Governor honoured citizens of Telangana in recognition of their association with the celebration. Secretary to the Governor Sandeep Bhardwaj and other dignitaries guests were also present on the occasion.
