Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from the Sanour Assembly constituency, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, has received major relief after being granted bail in a rape case registered against him.
According to available information, Pathanmajra, who is currently lodged in Bathinda Jail, is likely to be released on Monday following the court’s order.
The bail has been granted in connection with charges under Section 376 (rape). The case was filed by his second wife, Gurpreet Kaur, following which an FIR was registered at the Civil Lines Police Station.
This is the second legal relief secured by the MLA in recent months. Earlier, he had also been granted bail in a separate mining-related case.
Following the court’s decision, a message was shared on Pathanmajra’s official Facebook account expressing gratitude to supporters and well-wishers for their trust and continued support during the legal proceedings.
The case will continue to proceed through the judicial process, with further hearings expected in due course.
