Chandigarh: The Haryana Government has launched an aggressive execution-driven campaign to accelerate healthcare infrastructure projects across the state, focusing on faster implementation, stricter monitoring and improved patient services. For FY 2026-27, the government has allocated Rs. 815 crore for major healthcare infrastructure projects, marking a nearly 288 percent increase from Rs. 210 crore allocated in FY 2025-26. To ensure rapid execution, Rs. 203.75 crore has already been released to PWD B&R in the first quarter of the current financial year. Chairing a high-level review meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Sumita Misra directed departments to strictly follow revised timelines and warned that delays in healthcare projects would not be tolerated.

The review covered Sub-Health Centres, Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres, District Civil Hospitals, Mother and Child Health buildings, Critical Care Blocks and TB Centres. Key projects under accelerated execution include the expansion of Civil Hospital Ambala Cantt from 100 to 200 beds, hospital upgradation works in Gurugram, expansion projects in Hisar and Mahendragarh, and pending healthcare works in Palwal, Rewari and Karnal districts. The government has also directed officials to fix accountability in delayed projects and remove bottlenecks linked to contractor disputes to ensure timely completion.

To strengthen quality and transparency, Haryana has introduced Third Party Quality Assurance mechanisms through Quality Assurance Authority (QAA) and PWD B&R Haryana for all new healthcare infrastructure projects. Independent audits, dedicated nodal officers and regular inspections will monitor construction standards and speed up issue resolution. The government has also prioritised cleanliness, drinking water facilities, functional toilets, uninterrupted power backup and better patient amenities in hospitals. As part of its long-term healthcare vision, Haryana plans to engage specialised consultants for future projects under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission to build technologically advanced and patient-friendly healthcare institutions.
