CBSE Announces Fee Refunds After Technical Glitches Disrup Class 12 Re-Evaluation Process

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will fully reimburse Class 12 students who were overcharged due to technical anomalies on its official portal during the post-result verification phase. This prompt intervention follows a formal directive from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who demanded a comprehensive investigation into widespread systemic failures after numerous candidates experienced severe payment gateway issues while attempting to access their evaluated scripts.

According to an official notification released by the national board, high network traffic on May 21 and May 22 caused severe server lag, resulting in erratic digital transactions. While some students found themselves paying double or excess amounts to secure scanned copies of their answer books, others were undercharged as the payment gateway timed out mid-transaction. Educational administrators clarified that the exact surplus amounts will be deposited directly back into the original bank accounts or digital wallets used by the applicants, completely eliminating the need for students to submit fresh appeals.

The administrative breakdown drew sharp criticism earlier in the week when students and parents took to social media to voice their anxieties over missing strict verification deadlines due to recurrent portal crashes. Taking serious note of the operational lapses, the Union Education Ministry stepped in to ensure that no student would be academically disadvantaged due to technological bottlenecks. In response, the board has extended the application timelines, upgraded its server capacity to handle peak user loads, and guaranteed that all affected candidates will receive their digitized answer sheets regardless of their current transaction status.

To prevent further panic among the student community, the board issued a reassessment reassurance, emphasizing that the entire verification and re-evaluation apparatus is structurally designed to handle grievances with complete equity. For the handful of candidates whose accounts showed incomplete or lesser deductions due to the digital glitch, individual communications will be dispatched detailing how to clear the pending balance securely. The board’s swift remedial strategy aims to restore full transparency to the post-examination review procedure as thousands of students gear up for highly competitive university admissions.
