Patna: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday strongly condemned the violence between Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers outside the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters in Patna. He emphasized that “falsehood and violence cannot stand before truth and non-violence.”

The clash occurred during a BJP protest march against allegedly derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother, reportedly connected to Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’. BJP workers, chanting slogans in Darbhanga over the issue, proceeded to march to the Congress office at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna. Congress leaders accused BJP members of vandalizing the premises and assaulting party workers during the protest.

Rahul Gandhi, who is leading the yatra, addressed the incident on X, stating, “Falsehood and violence cannot stand before truth and non-violence. Attack as much as you want, we will continue to protect the truth and the Constitution. Satyamev Jayate.”

Friday marked the 13th day of his yatra, which started in Bettiah (West Champaran) in the morning and reached Gopalganj by the afternoon, continuing his campaign across Bihar.
