Mumbai: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced a significant reshuffle in the leadership of India’s media regulatory and broadcasting bodies on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Shashi Shekhar Vempati, the former Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification. According to the official notification, Vempati will hold the office for a three-year term starting from his date of joining. Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw extended his congratulations to Joshi, praising his creative vision and his ability to resonate with the cultural fabric of the nation.
