IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales Vinay Malhotra Resigns Amid Leadership Changes

New Delhi: IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, Vinay Malhotra, has resigned from his position, the airline said in a regulatory filing on Monday, marking another senior-level exit at the country’s largest carrier.

Malhotra will step down and be formally relieved of his duties at the close of business hours on July 3. In his resignation letter addressed to IndiGo Managing Director Rahul Bhatia, he said the decision followed “careful reflection” on his career and future plans, adding that he intends to pursue opportunities outside the company.

The development comes at a time when IndiGo has been witnessing a series of leadership changes. On March 31, the airline announced the appointment of William Walsh, a veteran pilot and current chief of global airline body IATA, as its next Chief Executive Officer.

This followed the sudden exit of CEO Pieter Elbers in March, amid operational disruptions that had impacted the airline in recent months. Earlier, on March 23, IndiGo had also appointed former Air India Express MD Aloke Singh as its Chief Strategy Officer.

The latest resignation adds to the ongoing reshuffle within IndiGo’s top management as the airline navigates operational and strategic challenges.
